Cabinet Ministers of Punjab
In the council of ministers of Punjab government, there are total 18 members which includes Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and 16 Cabinet Ministers. There are total 4 cabinet ministers from BJP and rest belong to SAD.
It is interesting to note that the current vidhan sabha has maximum percentage of women MLAs as compared to earlier vidhan sabhas but there is no women cabinet minister in the current council of ministers in Punjab. There are total 14 women MLAs out of total 117 members in the current assembly.
You will be surprised to know that 19 departments are headed by the cabinet ministers from one family. The chief minister S. Parkash Singh Badal is head of 6 departments and his son deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal has 7 departments under him. His son-in-law Adaish Partap Singh Kairon is minister of 3 departments and Bikram Singh Majithia, the borther-in-law of Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal, is a cabinet minister of 3 departments.
There are total 117 members of Punjab Vidhan Sabha which are elected by the people through voting after every five years. Out of these MLAs, chief minister chooses the cabinet ministers and assign them various departments/ministries. The names of all the ministers and the departments under them is given below.

List of Cabinet Ministers of Punjab
S. Parkash Singh Badal - He is the chief minister of Punjab. He belongs to SAD and was elected as MLA from Lambi vidhan sabha seat in Muktsar district. He has following departments under him:
·             Vigilance
·             Civil Aviation
·             Science Technology and Environment
·             General Administration
·             Co-operation
·             Personnel
S. Sukhbir Singh Badal - He is the duputy chief minister of Punjab and son of chief minister S. Parkash Singh Badal. He belongs to SAD and was elected as MLA from Jalalabad vidhan sabha seat in Fazilka district. The most important departments in his portfolio is Home ministry, which is resposible for internal security of the state and Punjab Police comes under this ministry. He has following departments in his portfolio:

·             Excise and Taxation
·             Investment Promotion
·             Governance Reforms
·             Housing and Urban Development
·             Sports and Youth Services Welfare
·             Power
S. Adaish Partap Singh Kairon - He is the son-in-law of chief minister S. Parkash Singh Badal. He belongs to SAD and was elected as MLA from Patti vidhan sabha seat in Tarn Taran district. The most important departments in his portfolio is Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs ministry. Other departments headed by him, are:
·             Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs
·             Information and Technology
·             Food Processing
Bhagat Chunni Lal - He is a senior BJP leader and represents the Jalandhar West vidhan sabha seat of Jalandhar district as MLA. The most important departments in his portfolio is Labour ministry. Other departments headed by him, are:
·             Labour
·             Forest and Wild Life
S. Ajit Singh Kohar - He is a SAD leader and represents Shahkot vidhan sabha seat of Jalandhar district as MLA. He is the Transport Minister of Punjab. Other departments headed by him, are:
·             Transport
·             Employment Generation and Training
·             Legal and Legislative Affairs
·             Elections
1.           Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema - He is the education minister of Punjab. He is a senior SAD leader and is MLA from Rup Nagar vidhan sabha seat in Rup Nagar district.
1.           S. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon - He is irrigation minister of Punjab. He is a senior SAD leader and is MLA from Sahnewal vidhan sabha seat in Ludhiana district.
Sh. Anil Joshi - Anil Joshi belongs to BJP and is MLA from Amritsar North constituency in Amritsar district. He is the minister for following departments:

·             Medical Education and Research
S. Surjit Singh Rakhra - He belongs to SAD and is MLA from Samana constituency in Patiala district. He is the minister for following departments:

S. Bikram Singh Majithia - He is a SAD leader and also brother-in-law of deputy chief minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal. He is MLA from Majitha constituency in Amritsar district. The most important department in his portfolio is Revenue. He also heads the following departments:
